Most often I prefer non-fiction books - not a big Monroe fan, have never seen one movie of hers, however, this book perked my interest. Interesting and entertaining....A very unusual story. I felt as though I was main character of the book and cannot wait for sequel....lots of facts revealed about Marilyn's life. I do suspect foul play regarding her untimely death and hope she reveals more in the next book.Product details

Hello, Norma Jean by Sue Dolleris
From the prologue the author drew me in with her refreshing depictions of scenes and time-setting elements. I felt like I could be in a old-time movie. References to Casablanca and Moonlight Sonata help fortify this picture of Marilyn Monroe's time.
This Moonlight Sonata is carried with the reader to the first opening chapter when we meet the main character humming the catchy tune. Setting again a mood, a tone. A writer with a way with words.
Told in present tense, I think I would have loved to hear the story told in past tense, but the present does give the story a more immediate feeling. A sense that what was, is now in the what-is.
Katie's journey allows the reader into her life, a life that seems ordinary at first, mundane, nothing unusual. Until Kate realizes she has had a accident and she is now guided by the spirit of Norma Jean -Marilyn Monroe.
I like that the author doesn't meander in getting to the point of the story like some authors.
I love the details the author uses like "the morning sunlight is streaming through the windows." "afloat in the threatening sky." But there are too many sentences beginning with Kate. However, the lovely plot of the story keep me very captivated and the otherwise eloquent usage of the English language by the author kept me more interested still.
Through all the trails and tribulations, I guess it would be nice if we all had such a spirit guide to help us along life's bumpy and unpredictable course. In the end, Kate and Norma Jean do work things out among "themselves."
I liked the book. This would definitely appeal to a wide audience. Those who adore Marilyn Monroe and also those who are interested in Mediums, spirits, and ghosts. This book could also appeal to people who are interested in such things as Life coaches. In a way, this book is a coach.
I would recommend this to my friends and hope anyone wondering if they should by the book, buys the book! You won't regret the decision.

I never was a big Marilyn Monroe fan-but the way this was presented gave me a new perspective. I enjoyed the flow of the story and the characters. It made me feel sympathetic to Marilyn Monroe. I think anyone reading this book would appreciate the content.
I hated for this book to end. A beautiful and heartwarming depication of life after death. I really hope it is accurate. Hope there will be more to follow with Kate Davis as I missed her when the book ended.
We've been having a lot of snowy weather in the south and I took the opportunity recently to sit with a book, a glass of wine, a blazing fire and my dogs. The book I chose was Hello, Norma Jean and it was a movie and a book in one. The author is a screenwriter at heart. I was able to run the movie in my head while reading this novella about redemption and the larger than life personality of a girl who really just wanted to be Norma Jean. I look forward to the sequel and futher angelic intervention.
