A Novel of Supernatural Horror From The Visionary Author of Punktown and Letters From Hades. Thought Forms follows the alternating stories of two cousins stalked by mysterious enemies bent on their destruction. Ray is a lonely young worker in a leather goods factory, whose parents were murdered by unknown assailants when he was just a child. Now, years later, having moved into the same remote house in which the murders occurred, Ray becomes increasingly harassed by enigmatic robed figures who may be connected to that long ago night of carnage. Meanwhile, Ray's cousin Paul goes to his job in the plastics company where he works nights, unaware that soon he and a small crew of coworkers will become trapped inside and hunted by an inhuman entity against which they must desperately battle if they hope to survive until morning. Building tension with the deliberate stealth of a big cat, by the time its bloody climax approaches "Thought Forms" will have gripped the reader's throat in crushing jaws. Once again we're reminded why F. Paul Wilson says, "Jeffrey Thomas' imagination is as twisted as it is relentless."

I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Thomas. His writing skills and vivid imagination are second to none and this book is no exception. The dual settings and overlapping storylines are both compelling. I was especially intrigued with the portion of the story that took place in a plastics factory. Why? I don't truly know, but factories and large buildings have always inspired a type of wonder in me. The characters were relatable and felt real, making you concerned for their eventual fates; an absolutely vital ingredient for a horror story to work. The denouement in each parallel tale was satisfying; probably the most difficult part to pull off for any novel, let alone a twofer. The inventiveness of Jeffrey's imagination seems limitless. As long as he keeps writing 'em I'll keep reading 'em.Product details

Thought Forms Jeffrey Thomas 9781888993714 Books Reviews
Jeffrey Thomas is rad. The dude's imagination knows no bounds. Two alternating stories, one about Ray and one about Paul, cousins both dealing with macabre and surreal happenings. Skillful writer and fantastic storyteller... did I mention his vast imagination? Give this one a read. I think you'll be very glad you did.
Today on Lone Ranger's Book Reviews THOUGHT FORMS
Thought Forms is a weird fiction novel from Jeffrey Thomas, creator of the legendary PUNKTOWN. I'll be reviewing the autographed copy today, which is of course the paperback (although Mr. Thomas can feel free to write/draw on my screen whenever!).
As the title states, this is essentially a fantastically written dual character piece. If you need plot information, the description on is entirely accurate. Essentially the book revolves around two cousins, Ray and Paul. And we spend quite a bit of time getting to know these characters before anything truly weird or supernatural happens to them -- this is a classic slow burn story. According to the insert at the beginning of the book, this book was written in the early 80's over a period of several years, by hand, and was just recently translated over to a print medium. Being so, it is a veritable time capsule and makes a wonderful period piece, which enhances this character study. It was written by the patient hand of a master, who chose and stuck to a pace that is hard to pull off effectively (gaining the audiences interest and keeping it). And while things start off a bit slow, it's all a giant set-up for a fast paced and satisfying conclusion.
Jeffrey Thomas truly shows that he can step up to the plate and compete with greats like Stephen King when it comes to character development and dialog. In no time, you will truly be engrossed by the setting of the story, and the lives of these characters.
A budget friendly version is available for those that wish to venture into this finely, micro-crafted world THOMAS has nurtured to life...
A full Five Stars from me.
